A cicada killer wasp. It looks about how you'd expect a wasp to, save that it's about half the size of the human hand it's perched on. It also has an exaggerated stinger (do not ask what it does with the stinger).

A jerboa; that is, a small hopping rodent with very large ears, legs, tail, and whiskers, and a smaller body with tiny little arms. It looks like it's plotting the most adorable possible crime.
