Never. Cables must never be discarded.
Keep them until they become heirlooms
You never know when you need these cords! ... *stares at my stack of cable crates*

Tie them together and use them to repel out the window and down the side of the house
I have a room full of cables n cords
What you do is buy a bunch of cable ties, wrap them all up, and shove them into a box. You mignt not need them now, but you'll be glad you did like 3 years down the line when you need one for some random thing.
