FIFA bases its decision on Article 27 of the FIFA Disciplinary Code. This provision states that the FIFA Disciplinary Committee may decide to suspend the enforcement of a previously imposed disciplinary sanction. However, Article 66.4 of the same FIFA Disciplinary Code clearly provides that a red card (sending-off) automatically results in a suspension for the team's next match, as has been the case for all previous red cards issued during this FIFA World Cup. Furthermore, and irrespective of the above, the decision is in direct contradiction with the provisions of the FIFA World Cup 2026 Competition Regulations, as set out in Article 10.5: "If a player or team official is sent off as a result of a direct or indirect red card (second caution), they will automatically be suspended from their team's subsequent match. In addition, further sanctions may be imposed." The automatic nature of such a suspension was also explicitly reaffirmed in FIFA World Cup 2026 Circular No. 16, which was distributed to all participating member associations on 12 May 2026. The same rule is reiterated at every FIFA World Cup 2026 Match Coordination Meeting prior to each match and is included in all FIFA World Cup 2026 workshop presentations. In order to safeguard the legitimate rights of all participating teams and to protect the fundamental principles of fair play in our sport, both at this FIFA World Cup and at future editions of the tournament, the RBFA is investigating all potential options.
The speed with which a patient will progress through the hospital system depends on a number of different factors (for example the response to treatment, the patient’s ability and desire to engage with treatment, the complexity of the patient’s mental disorder(s)) and as such is variable. A patient subject to a restricted hospital order under s37/41 may spend significantly more or less time detained than they would have had they received a sentence of imprisonment.
The decision to impose a hospital order is at the discretion of the court but it must be satisfied, on the written or oral evidence of two registered medical practitioners, that the offender is suffering from a mental disorder of a nature or degree which makes it appropriate for them to be detained in hospital for medical treatment, and that such treatment is available, and that with regard to the circumstances of the case (including the nature of the offence and the character and criminal history of the offender), that a hospital order is the most appropriate means of dealing with them. At least one of the two registered medical practitioners must have given evidence orally. A hospital order is not a punishment; the offender is effectively diverted away from the criminal justice system and into the secure hospital system for treatment.

The First Edition county series maps 1840 – 1893 From 1824 Ireland had been surveyed on a scale of 6” to 1 mile (1:10560). In 1840 a similar survey was commenced in Great Britain. The survey of England and Wales was completed in 1888 and of Scotland in 1896. From 1853 the scale was amended to 25” to 1 mile (1:2500). The maps were produced on a county-by-county basis. The maps created by this survey are collectively known as the First Edition.[7,12] A major aspect of this survey was the “mereing” of the numerous and diverse public boundaries which until that point were only known “by repute”, few having been explicitly set down in any statute. OS took great care over the mereing of reputed boundaries, perambulating the boundaries with locally appointed meresmen. The results were recorded in Boundary Remark Books, Boundary Sketch Maps and Journals of Inspection all of which are held in the National Archives. As the survey progressed so the mered boundaries were recorded onto the published 1:2500 and 1:10560 maps. This process involved the creation of the Boundary Record Sheets which formed the OS’s key record of public boundaries. Figure 1 is a key to the boundaries depicted on the maps. Currently just 16 per cent of England’s waters have at least a ‘good’ ecological health, compared to 31 per cent in Northern Ireland, 44 per cent in Wales and 66 per cent in Scotland. In comparison, 43 per cent France’s waterbodies have at least a ‘good’ ecological status.

Today marks a historic step forward for the Tameside Hippodrome. Earlier today Tameside Council approved major capital support to help bring the theatre back into live use — the first investment of its kind in well over two decades. It’s a clear signal of the Council’s commitment to the Hippodrome’s future, to St Peter’s Ward, and to Ashton’s night time economy and cultural life. This support comes from external grant funding secured by the Council, from sources we cannot access directly. It does not come from Council Tax. The decision follows the submission of our business plan earlier this year and builds on 30 months of constructive partnership and full co operation.

This unfortunate episode is not the first time paint has been used to vandalise the famous monument. On June 16, 1938, four young army offices pleaded guilty at Salisbury to charges of damaging the famous stones. The four officers had just completed a course of training at Larkhill and headed off to Stonehenge armed with green paint and brushes. They painted four of the stones including one side of the heel stone with the words “Does this look like a Friar?” After fining each of the officers it was reported that it might take another 1,000 years for the stones to regain their weathered appearance.

There are not very many of the latter about here, 300 at the most, while, for the last two months or more, we had over 800 white men ! At 25. per diem, the lowest computation, per man — that is almost below the average expenditure of the men — you get ^80 daily, and quite another ^10 between our two officers' and two sergeants' messes — total £go a day, or ^2700 a month ! Not to be despised ! And yet all along they have done their best to stifle and choke this absolutely certain income. The association must be in a very flourishing condition, and yet I hear rumours to the contrary. It is quite time now to sweep away monopoly, and encourage free trade and competition. Besides, the B.B.P. are stationary here, so that ^40 a day would remain even after we left.
In the general chaos, Russian ships began to shoot at each other. The cruisers Aurora and Dmitrii Donskoi were taken for Japanese warships and bombarded by seven battleships sailing in formation, damaging both ships and killing a chaplain and at least one sailor and severely wounding another. During the pandemonium, several Russian ships signalled that torpedoes had hit them, and on board the battleship Borodino, rumours spread that the ship was being boarded by the Japanese, with some crews donning life vests and lying prone on the deck and others drawing cutlasses. More serious losses to both sides were avoided only because of the extremely low quality of Russian gunnery, with the battleship Oryol reportedly firing more than 500 shells without hitting anything.
