Text: With the "recent" (I think this has been going on for a few years) layoffs (not only) in the game industry, it is important to remind employers that their decisions affect people and their families. Business decisions are social decisions. Business are part of the society and can't be treated as an independent entity. I am tired of hearing "oh you are unhappy, just look for another job!". This is putting in an individual the burden of a whole collapsing system. It is time to finally take people seriously and it will only work when us, the workers, make our voices loud and clear. There are many ways to form unity and join forces and I recommend unionizing. Collectively we are stronger! Next time you see a colleague struggling, support them by giving good advice: UNIONIZE!
Text: To put things into perspective: I had a Canadian passport, lawyers, resources, media attention, friends, family and even politicians advocating for me. Yet, I was still detained for nearly two weeks. Imagine what this system is like for every other person in there.
