Pro renting tip for #Halifax and #NovaScotia You are legally entitled to change from a year-to-year lease, to a month-to-month lease. Your landlord CANNOT refuse: 1. Provide 3 months notice to the yearly anniversary of the lease 2. Fill out Form DR1 and deliver it to your landlord

Legally, yes, but I know a shady landlord that would intentionally make living in their building intolerable for you, and then find some quasi-legal excuse to give YOU a month's notice to leave.
