Most people can talk faster than they can type. I write and respond to many emails using voice-to-text while walking!

I prefer to open the Gmail app on my phone to use the voice-to-text feature of my phone’s keyboard. Voice-to-text is also available with Google Read&Write or other accessibility tools.

open the email or check the box for the email → click the “Snooze” button → select the date/time you want the email to wake up and reappear at the top of your inbox

you can view your snoozed emails in the menu on the left

Labels are similar to folders in Outlook. You may have a lot of labels imported from Outlook, I recommend deleting them.

create new labels: click the + sign by the Labels list in the menu

or click the label icon → type a label name → the name will appear with “Create new, click the that text

add labels to emails if using keyboard shortcuts: with email open, type “l” → begin typing the name of your label → when it is highlighted, hit enter

create a filter: click the search options button in the search bar → enter information into at least 1 of the search options → click “Create filter” → select actions you want the filter to do → click “Create filter”

filter suggestions:
- if it is from principal: star it, apply label “From admin,” and mark as important
- if it is something I don’t need to read: mark as read, archive it

Note: you can edit filters in the settings menu

when this happens: open the email → click the 3 dots above the conversation→ select “Mute”

sit back and relax knowing you won’t get 30 emails that either say “stop replying all” or “please remove me”

turn on keyboard shortcuts: gear icon → “See all settings” → “General” → scroll down to “Keyboard shortcuts” → select “Keyboard shortcuts on” → scroll down and click “Save changes”
frequently used shortcuts:
e = archive
# = delete
r = reply
c = compose
l = label

turn on auto-advance in Gmail settings: gear icon → “See all settings” → “Advanced” → click “Enable” for “Auto-advance” → scroll down and click “Save changes”

select the direction for auto-advance: gear icon → “See all settings” → “General” → scroll down to “Auto-advance” → select option → scroll down and click “Save changes”

turn on templates in Gmail settings: gear icon → “See all settings” → “Advanced” → click “Enable” for “Templates” → scroll down and click “Save changes”

create a template: click “Compose” → type an email with subject → click 3 dots → “Templates” → “Save draft as template” → “Save as new template”

use a template: click “Compose” → click 3 dots → “Templates” → select a template

Use search operators and/or search options in the omnibox

⭐has:attachment OR has:YouTube
⭐is:unread AND has:attachment

1) in Search box, use this search term (or any other date): before:2024-06-01 or before:2024-06-01 is:read

2) click the box to select all emails

3) if you see a message that says "All 50 conversations on this page are selected", click the hyperlink text to select all.

4) click the Archive button

5) you can view these emails by clicking on “All mail” on the left or when searching
