Image Hi Stephanie, This week, the House passed a major budget package — and I’m proud to say it delivers real wins for Iowa families, farmers, and small businesses. We took your feedback and turned it into action. Here's what we secured for hard-working Iowans: ✅ Locked in the Trump Tax Cuts including no tax on tips, benefits, or overtime ✅ Increased the Child Tax Credit by 25% ✅ Updated the Adoption Tax Credit to be fully refundable ✅ Invested $60+ billion in agriculture programs for our farmers and producers What this package means for you and your family: ��‍��‍��‍�� The average Iowa family will save over $3,000 a year �� Farmers and producers can plan with certainty �� Main Street Iowa businesses can invest, hire, and grow We saved taxpayers $1.6 trillion the right way — by cutting waste, not access to care. This package: �� Strengthens work requirements for able-bodied adults receiving benefits �� Removes more than 1 million illegal immigrants and 4 million ineligible enrollees from programs like Medicaid and SNAP �� Refocuses resources on Iowans who genuinely need support, not those gaming the system Here’s what it doesn’t do — despite what you might’ve heard: ��️ It does not cut benefits for children, seniors, pregnant moms, or Iowans with disabilities �� It does not raise taxes on working families, it provides the average family a tax cut of $4,000 �� It does not eliminate core safety net programs, it protects them from fraud and abuse Bottom Line: We’re stopping runaway spending, delivering tax relief for Iowa families, and preserving benefits for those who truly need them.
