Hello, it’s me again! Again? What is this? Some kind of sequel? I did everything I could to represent amputees fairly. I consulted five different amputees. None of them wanted to read my gay romance, but I got advice from all of them. But you’re reading it, knowing that it is lovingly crafted and that I wanted to give these men the best shot at romance. I could have done better. One of them only gets shot 7 times; that’s why there are 7 less lethal shotgun casings on the cover. Oh, you know that cover is FULL of symbolism. That gun barrel? Is that a James Bond reference? Sick. Did you know that James Bond originated as a Cold War novel? I also make a James Bond reference in book one when Anatoly mimes petting a cat and laughing evilly. There is a lot of media that I had to argue with myself about whether or not it exists in universe. Ultimately, I believe certain things are inevitable, like Cyndi Lauper’s “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” and Vanessa Carlton’s “1000 Miles.” Otherwise, how are we expected to survive this horrible fascist place?
