Just a dev (SRE/Platform Engineer) who likes to fish and travel with the family. Also likes looking at the sky and stuff. Sometimes, I even write code outside of work. All pictures taken by me - most with a phone.

At one of my favorite local parks (and fishing spot), looking out towards the intracoastal waterway. The railing made of wood with steel cables as “bars” cuts the frame in half horizontally, and just above it, an FWC (Florida Fish & Wildlife Commission) pontoon boat with triple outboards (350s I believe) slowly cruises by in the no wake zone. There are roughly four officers on board, so you better hope you aren’t keeping any fish you shouldn’t be! The water is mostly calm and dark blue. The sky above is mostly cloudy, but you can see some blue, and the rich people island is visible in the background.

A nice Florida sunset lights up lots of long thin clouds in colors from orange to pink in bright streaks across the sky. Some palm trees are silhouetted in front of the nice colors. A parking lot and intersection are visible in the foreground, but ignore that, because wow that sky is insane.
A video I originally shared on TikTok that scrolls horizontally across the sweeping ridge of mountains in the Jungfrau region of Switzerland. Their towering peaks are capped in a thick white snow, along with multiple glaciers that are on the other side (so we all just have to imagine how those look). This description simply does not do the video justice, and I apologize for failing you.

A photo of the harbor, as seen from a table under an umbrella. Lots of boats are visible, including dinghies, sport fishing yachts, sailboats, and more, and the rain hasn’t rolled in yet, so only white clouds are visible in the blue sky. The water is a deep dark blue, as it’s relatively deep here, and it’s choppy, since the wind is blowing pretty steadily. Some people can be seen sitting in chairs in the sun.

I _think_ this plant has been properly identified, as the result looks very similar to this one; if so, it’s a polka dot plant (Hypoestes phyllostachya). It has green leaves with pink spots all over them. The spots almost look like they are paint splatter. It is a very cool plant.

A sandbar is visible beyond the very shallow water. The sky is blue with just wispy clouds through most of it, and a line of fluffy white cumulus clouds is visible along the horizon. You can see the mainland in the distance as well.

The lit up top portion of the Empire State Building, zoomed in. It’s lit in a bright yellow color on this night. The building has three (arguably four?) visible “tiers” in this photo, each one getting smaller on the way up, with a spire at the very top. The spire houses at least one antenna I believe.

The València sign at Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias in València, Spain. It is comprised of free standing, white, 3-dimensional letters that spell out the word “VALÈNCIA,” as you may have already guessed. It’s a bright and sunny day just past solar noon, so the letters are casting very short shadows on the ground in front of them. In the background, the turquoise pools of water that fill large sections of the park are visible, and are their usual bright color. Behind that, you can see one of the large, semi-spherical structures as well. The sky above is blue, without any visible clouds
A man sits on a bench at a waterside park. Tall palm trees surround him. He’s probably no more than 10 feet (3 meters) from the water. It is very bright outside, and the sky is mostly free of clouds. The time is about an hour past solar noon, and the palm tree to his left is casting a nice round shadow that covers his bench and the surrounding area. He appears, at least in this moment, to have no concerns, schedule, or immediate responsibilities. Two short, wooden fishing piers reach out into the water, and you can see the corners of them on either edge of the visible frame.

At a plaza called Martin Pines. You can tell, because the sign says Martin Pines. Directly beneath the sign is a circular cutout, and three bells are hanging inside the tower like structure, much like you’d see in an old church. However, the bells DO NOT WORK! Disappointed, I turn around and leave the plaza. I got ice cream, though, so I quickly forgot all about the bells and drove home happily - until I looked at this picture again that is! What a scam! Fake ass phony ass bells! Nah jk they do look real, even though they are missing the big ball striker thing that normally hangs inside them, striking the sides when they are swung in each direction. Did I just explain how bells work to you? I guess I did. Why are you still here? Ok byyyeeeeeee
