As we approach the homestead of the legendary Alan Moore, there's a palpable excitement in the air. The brisk winter air stings the eyes but with the aid of our ski masks, is luckily manageable. As we file into the second story bathroom window, my assistant James remarks how lovely the English woods are at this time of night as he retrieves the crowbar from the bag slung across his back. A few moments later, we’re inside the cabin, and as we walk down the hall I prepare my notepad of questions to ask Mr. Moore. The door to the master bedroom creaks open before us, and before we know it the floor beneath us has fallen away to reveal a series of convoluted spike and glue traps. As we fall James uses his backpack to soften the landing, and I fall on to James, pushing him on to the spikes anyways.
