This thing is a remnant of the Gilded Age, and was finished in 1905. It's next to Trinity Church.

In First Street Green Park, owned by NYC Parks but curated by a nonprofit. The murals in here change often.
This park is built around old warehouses and was part of the deal when constructing Industry City, which is a few blocks away.

The Battle of Brooklyn (sometimes called the Battle of Long Island) was fought here during the Revolutionary War. This is the highest point in Brooklyn.
On Colonial Road, in the suburban part of the neighborhood.
During an event called "Let's Goat Hike," which is what it sounds like. I do recommend.

Much newer than the rest of this place, not finished until 2006. It's for cremated remains.

Roof of the train hall in Moynihan, which is an add-on to Penn. They struggled to get this done for years.
A classic NYC Art Deco building. This was completed in 1929.

An alley off Court Street and the only photo I took that day. I was there for groceries and happened to have my camera.
The main branch, and also one of the four research libraries. The building is Beaux-Arts and dates to the 1890s.

I thought this was recent, but I had simply missed it. It went up in 2018. Third Ave in Midtown.
Pleasing angles and lines. Near Rittenhouse Square.
Rittenhouse square. It works in black and white too, but I prefer the color version.
These cases date to a time before the Internet, when this was the only way to see these animals. I still wouldn't do it, but they're not going to take them down.

He was near Prince Philip's Steps. The trail there is lined with birds and none of them fear humans. An amazing place.
On Houston. Small crop on this, since there’s a lot going on.
A couple of others from this series in my timeline. This looks south over the lake, down to 59th Street.
This sign dates from 1940, when it was on the roof of a Pepsi bottling plant. It was rebuilt in the 90s and then moved to Gantry Plaza State Park when the plant was torn down. Now it faces the UN across the East River.
These windows at IKEA are definitely the best part of going there.
It took me some time to remind myself where this was taken, as the shot is a few years old. This commemorates sailors lost at sea. It reads: "Sacrifice" and "They That Go Down to the Sea in Ships"

Piermont, New York—right on the Hudson River.
At golden hour, but looking east over the ocean instead of into the sunset. You can walk the beach down there, but I'd just hiked 5 miles :)

The dome in the Galway Cathedral. This one wasn't finished until 1965, so it's incredibly new for a stone cathedral.
I believe this was near St. Paul's.
