I'm gonna play devils advocate: not all people want to learn new systems, some people barely want to roll the d20 and add the number. They find the fun in the communal world-building and roleplaying and storytelling, and it helps them to have a framework to build that off of.

“Jungle of the Jade Jaguar” has enough content to run and the Sword system is interesting and thematically appropriate. JJJ could definitely be expanded into a much larger adventure and the text “Magic pulses from this weapon, a cut straight into the dimension of THE GREEN – and from that cosmic wound pours an unending reservoir of life. Flora and fauna, ceaselessly evolving, spill forth in a riot of unchecked creation...” is an interesting enough premise that it could support a much lengthier module and bestiary - which i would like to see. So as it is, it’s pretty good! And the skeleton it provides could be laden with a very weird body for an even more involved module.
An excellent component of DNGN+DRGN, the creatures herein have excellent vibes to match the vibes of the art and layout — The Meatworks being an excellent take on an ultimate opponent. One great touch - especially given the incredibly concise wordcount - is recommendations on how to use these creatures as obstacles and NPC encounters rather than *just* a target for violence. It definitely helps flesh out more of the GM ideology that underlies the game.
This is the game version of a dungeon-synth cassette given to you by the guy who has a wizard painted on his van. It has an easy-to-understand ruleset that offers a little more depth than many other micro-rpgs. However, it does carry the same caveat that while it offers rules, it probably isn’t enough material for a new GM: without a decent understanding of the dungeon-delving genre, I think a GM might flounder a little. I definitely recommend it for a lightweight, quick ruleset when you need a session on the fly, or maybe for a short beer-and-pretzels kind of campaign. And it scores 100% on vibes.

As a player/GM/purchaser of future said £5 entry RPG, I would expect that I'd get a useable RPG in terms of mechanics and flavour of the setting. Likely to be for a more experienced GM who is happy to fill in any gaps. Things that would impress me/blow me away: - Detailed setting - An adventure - "How to" examples - GM & Player advice - Bestiary - Pre-Gens - NPCs - Art beyond the cover - Prompt / Spark tables
I don't have money to pay an artist for depiction of my DnD characters, I don't want to steal art from google, and I don't want to use AI, and also my drawings are shit. So, it's impossible for me to have an art for my DnD characters then? :) like, I want ethical solution but there's none? :)

text: Violence  Monsterhearts doesn’t have a combat system. That’s a departure from lots of other roleplaying games. But it does have rules about physical violence, primarily the basic move Lashing Out Physically. The reason that physical violence is tied to the Volatile stat is that it’s often impulsive, accompanied by a surge of adrenaline and nerves. When violence occurs, there are more consequences than just bruises and blood. Think about the social and emotional ramifications. If you just got punched in the face, or if you just punched someone in the face, how does your body feel? Are you seething with anger, fear, or betrayal? Who’s watching and who’s intervening? Violence changes a lot of things really quickly. The story can sometimes involve a character Lashing Out Physically in retaliation after someone Lashed Out Physically at them, sure, but if a scene devolves into a round-by-round exchange of blows, take a step back. Remember that part of the Agenda is to make the main characters’ lives not boring, and dispassionately trading punches to the face is boring. The outcomes of every move need to feed back in to the conversation and add something to the fiction. Violence has consequences on relationships and emotions, not just bodies, and a single act of violence is often enough to completely change the situation. If you’re the MC, use your Reactions to keep the story feral in these moments. Have the gym teacher burst into the locker room and separate them. Have a boyfriend watching anxiously, squeamish at the thought of more blood, so that you can tell them the possible consequences and ask.
