Cuba traded one dictator for another. Yes, the US embargo has hurt, but Castro’s vanity and hubris is what long kept Cuba from realizing its potential. Batista was never going to last forever but I wonder what course Cuba would’ve taken if Fidel had the talent to make it in big league baseball.
