A long shot reveals a bustling room in a Parisian apartment, full of mostly men (outside of the famous Madame Manon Roland, a Jacobin who went about her own political ambitions by setting up gatherings for her male collegues and writing to them afterwards). Across the busy page of people drinking wine and socialising, musical lyrics are being sung aloud:
“Gentleman! Let’s make haste! To the Jacobin’s own senate! It’s here that we will meditate, all the happiness of the state!
And Robespierre, we shall see, praises Marat so eloquently!
Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah!
From Avignon, to good Arle! The Lameths speak, Alexander and Charles! And we are all transported then!
Eh! Eh! Eh! Eh!
When Gorsas shows, we never joke! Even when he’s inclined to boast, his oh so rare integrity!
Hi! Hi! Hi! Hi!
An author may be talked of much, but if a Jacobin he is not, then he can only be a fool!”
At the bottom of the page, we see that the two culprits of this Jacobin song are themselves two of the proudest Jacobins- Camille Desmoulins and Jacques Brissot. They are in each other’s arms and singing heartily:
“Hu! Hu! Hu! Hu!”

Robespierre grumbles at Petion: "I-I stand by that proposal". But his flustered expression gives away his embarrassment. Petion smiles at him smugly: "...perhaps your stubborness is also the reason you are on no commitees."
The two continue walking down a street. Petion says: "Honesty is an admirable quality. But it will not get you any where in politics, if you lack subtlety." Robespierre's eyes remain fixed on the ground as he replies: "But it is not in my interest to 'get anywhere'."
A close of Robespierre, he looks tired and frustrated as he says: "I only wish to uphold the constitution."
Petion waves a hand around in his relaxed manner while saying: "But can we uphold it without maintaining some position of power? We might need to play these games, only a little bit." His friend furrows his brow in contemplation.

Narration: “Since it’s autism acceptance month, I should really make some kind of insightful comic about autism. But…”

Opening panel of me with my mouth wrapped up tight in some bandage that I cant remove. Narration: "Since I was a kid, I have found it hard to express negative feelings openly to other people. I believe this is partly due to autism, but not because I have any trouble identifying or articulating my feelings." I sit at a party amongst lots of talking people, feeling sad but not saying anything. "Whenever I'm sad, I know exactly how I'm feeling." A contrasting image shows me sat on my bed alone in a dark room. "And yet, I almost always feel the need to express that sadness alone."
A 7 yo me tugs at my mums sleeve, expressing upset. "This wasn't the case when I was a kid. My parents never discouraged me from talking about my feelings."
A series of images showing younger me getting upset and stressed out in various situations- overwhelmed at a kids party because we were having dinner at the wrong time. Going to concerts and finding the sound too painful. Getting scared of the hair drier my mum insisted I use, even though it made me feel like I was choking and was too loud.
"But, as an autistic child, I remember being distressed a lot. And I was undiagmosed. I couldn't explain what was wrong. Sensory overload wasn't a word I knew about. The only thing I knew was that I was stressed and couldn't escape the stress."

Mia holds up the round spectrum with a smile! She says: “I hope that in the future, people will better understand the term ‘spectrum’ and continue to respect the differences and similarities we all share in how we experience the world.”

The hand picks up Mia again and puts her on the ‘very autistic’ end of the linear spectrum. It says: “Whoa, you’re more autistic than I thought. Since you’re very autistic, actually I don;t think you should be allowed to go out with friends, okay?”
Mia says with sadness: “...and then, if you’re seen as being ‘severely autistic’, it can lead people to labelling you as not being capable of doing anything at all.”

Mia waves to the reader: “Hi! I’m Mia, and I’m autistic! It means sometimes I find talking nad language difficult, even though I’m really good at writing my own songs. But sometimes neurotypical people aren’t so good at this kinda stuff either. And it means they can make some misconceptions about me. That’s why I want to explain what ‘autism spectrum’ actually means.”

A dog is talking to a nervous looking robot- she has a clear dome on the top half of her head. He asks: "what's wrong?" The robot replies: "Oh, Axon! Good boy! I'm glad you're here! I've been preparing the classroom for tomorrow's lesson. The children will be learning about the human nervous system." A close up of the frazzled looking robot. She says while fretting: "But I'm so nervous! It's my first time teaching children. I'm worried they'll get bored..." Axon looks at the robot with a cynical expression: "Professor...did you forget to put your brain in again?" The robot responds with a moment of realization: "...You're right!" A close up of a brain sat in a jar of liquid. The professor's voice bubble overlaps: "I left it in it's jar. I can't concentrate very well without it!"

The jolly petion puts a reassuring hand on Robespierre’s back: “No need to worry yourself, my friend. We will find a way to ensure those with bad intentions are not handed power.” Robespierre’s eyes are averted to the ground, but he looks contented: “Indeed.”

His eyes open wide as Petion interrupts him, as if with the most intimidating of proposals: “You are attending Madame Roland’s dinner tonight, yes?”
Robespierre turns to his friend reluctantly, who reacts with surprise. Robespierre: “Oh- well...Actually-” Petion: “You are declining AGAIN? You would surely not turn down the Rolands three times in a row?”
Robespierre looks away with exhaustion, the dark rings are still evident around his eyes. “...I am sorry. It’s just...I am very tired at the moment.”

Petion looks over at Robespierre with curiosity, as they walk through a street near the Assembly hall. He enquires: “Robespierre? You are displeased with our efforts?” His friend mumbles back, looking more engrossed in revelling in his anxiety than in paying attention to Petion, his finger is tapping against his leg: “Not displeased. Just...disappointed in Barnave.”

Robespierre’s inner frustration explodes out of him as he raises his head and stretches out his hands in front of him: “Barnave! He’s a JACOBIN!”
Petion smiles in a relaxed manner behind Robespierre, who is only getting increasingly worked up. He attempts to speak, but keeps getting interrupted by Robespierre’s ramblings: “He is one of our club’s most prominent members. It is a club dedicated to the constitution. A constitution that explicitly says-”
Petion finally gets a word in, he is still smiling cheerfully, but with a raised eyebrow: “NOW, NOW, Robespierre. Do you really think everyone in the Jacobin Club is there for reasons of Virtue?”

Robespierre thumps back down into his seat with a defiant and stubborn expression, in the center of the panel. On either side of him, deputies from to the left and right argue intensely with each other.

A narration panel extends off the page, showing a black man in a wig- Vincent Oge- who has raised his fist in typical revolutionary defiance. The narration reads: “In May 1791, discussions on the place of slavery within France’s new constitution are raised- not for the first time. Tensions have been sparked again, when Vincent Oge is violently killed for his rebellion against the colonialist’s refusals to accept HIS RIGHT TO VOTE.
The next panel introduces a new day in the National Assembly, and covers most of the background of the top half of the page- the scene shows a room crowded with deputies. Overlapping this scene is a close up of Barnave, a well kept looking deputy in a nice red coat and fine wig.
Narration: “Robespierre finds himself once again at odds with other deputies- this time, a fellow JACOBIN: ANTOINE BARNAVE, a leader on the colonial committee.”
Barnave speaks out to the Assembly: “The colonies must be able to make their own decsions on these laws concerning the rights of people of colour. This constitution that mainland France has adopted, is threatening the prosperity that our PROPERTY has allowed the nation to enjoy.”
The next two panels show the different reactions from the Right and Left leaning deputies. To the Right, a posh looking aristocrat claps in agreement, saying: “Here, here. Giving rights to slaves is too much to ask when we have so much wealth in the colonies.” To the Left, the out spoken Abolitionist Abbe Gregoire folds his arms in irritation, commenting: “Hypocrites. These colonials have happily quoted the constitution before, when it suits white people.”
There is a long shot of Barnave as he concludes his argument for keeping slavery in tact: “...Now is not the time to discuss these PHILOSOPHICAL matters of whether people of colour deserve rights.”

Robespierre looks out of his sunny window, the day is young and optimistic. The words of his letter overlap the page: “...The new constitution appears to me at least, to contain some basic defects which prevent good citizens from rejoicing. ...I think I will be here for a few months yet.”
A blank panel blue panel is next, centring the comic’s narration as it takes over Robespierre’s own words: “Those months turn into years, as Robespierre makes it his MISSION to defend human rights.”
The next panel jumps into the first of those years- Robespierre leans forward at the lectern with much passion. He says: “let us hope that it can never be policy, whatever people say, to condemn to degradation and oppression a multitude of men who live among us!”
A purple box with information is pointed at him: “1789: Robespierre speaks in favour of giving voting rights to Jews and actors.”
On the other side of Robespierre, three fellow deputies- Lafayette, Barnave and Petion, smile and clap with agreement at his statement. A narration box sits at the bottom of this page: “At first, the many progressives in the Assembly share his enthusiasm.”

Robespierre, one of the very first ardently left leaning politicians of European history, says with a stern expression:
"In politics, nothing is useful that is not just and honest;"

Robespierre steps down from the lectern, falling back into obscurity as he disappears into the crowd, who look on with smiles and applause at a considerably more confident Jacobin taking his turn to make a speech. Narration overlaps: “He is growing every hour into consequence, and strange to relate, the whole National Assembly hold him cheap, consider him insignificant,”
The Englishman speaks to Lafayette, Lameth, and Barnave- all Deputies in the National Assembly, and aristocrats. They look at this man with cynical expressions.
Narration: “When I mentioned to some of them my suspicions that he would be the man of sway in a short time…”
The three men fall about with laughter, the Englishman looking at them with surprise and confusion. Narration: “...I was laughed at.”

The Englishman looks out towards Lafayette, who is speaking with grand gestures at the lectern. In the crowd behind him, a small man barely stands out, as he patiently waits to take his turn in making a speech. Narration overlaps: “There is one man who speaks almost every night...Maximilien Robespierre.”

The French Revolutionary and Radical Leftist writer, Jean-Paul Marat, stands framed by a sans-cullote hat and oak leaves. He looks angered, and holds above him a quill, with the feather replaced with a burning flame. The fire dimly lights the dark background around Marat, revealing many faint and eerie looking faces of a large crowd. They look like ordinary working class people, and their angry eyes are the most visible in the dim light.

The Englishman walks towards a church building in the early evening. A french flag is hung from the side. Narration reads: "My friend, I have started to frequent one of the many popular societies situated here in Paris. It si called 'The society of the friends of the constitution'. Although everyone here calls it the JACOBIN CLUB."
The polite English man does his very English thing of apologising meekly as various working class men walk past him. Narration: "Men from all sorts of backgrounds meet here to discuss politics."
The man brushes himself off. But then is pushed around by another crowd- of working class women. He looks completely taken off guard. Narration: "There is also a club underneath where women are admitted and mount the tribune."

A narration box overlaps Cecile Fatiman, a voudou priestess who helped in starting the Haitian revolution and liberation of slaves in Haiti. It reads: "I hear that Africans are fighting with the white planters in saint-domingue over the right to vote."
A narration box overlaps the openly gay politician Jean-Jacques-Regis de Cambaceres, and says: "There is talk of sodomy being decriminalised".
A narration box overlaps Sophie de Condorcet, a writer/translator who hosted The Cercil Social, a salon/club aimed at promoting women's rights. It reads: "And women now believe they must be part of this constitution of rights as well."
In a new panel, a crowd of deputies cheer: "we are all friends! All equals! All brothers!" They all look very emotional and are hugging each other with wistful expressions. A narration box reads: "Back in '89, even the nobles gave into this equality nonsense, willingly giving up much of their wealth and privildges in a single night."
Barere, a noble deputy, steps forward enthusiastically with tears in his eyes. Other deputies look at him with uncomfortable expressions. Narration reads: "One noble, Barere, got over excited and volunterred to not be paid any compensation for his financial sacrifice."
Barere looks around him in hesitation and surprise, as he finds that no other deputies step forward with him. They seem to all pretend to have not heard his proposal. Narration: "Fortunately, the other nobles did not follow his lead."

A embarassed and bewildered Englishman sits amongst many women as he watches the debates in the Assembly. Narration says:
"I watched the deputies debate in the National Assembly today. There were many women there. They seem eager to participate in politics, and no one tries to stop them. Is it not enough that the Parisian women forced the monarchy to relocate to Paris in that protest?"
The Englishman sits in the center of the panel, to his Right are one set of deputies, to his Left another- Robespierre sits on the Left, of course.
Narration: "The Assembly debates are lively affairs, and the deputies sit on each side according to their opinion. On the RIGHT are those of a conservative point of view, who still believe the monarchy to be trusted with power. On the LEFT sits the more progressive deputies, those who wish for the power to be distributed equally amongst all kinds of people."

Narration boxes overlap a close up of a hand, that is writing a letter with a quill pen:
"My dear friend... I trust you and your family are well."
A posh looking man in a wig and plain clothes, steps out of carriage.
"How is England? I sometimes miss it very much."
The man walks towards a large stone entrance, with French flags on either side: the entrance to the National Assembly.
"This revolution has left France very changed."

The King stands in front of Third Estate deputies, his arms folded defiantly. Robespierre stands in one corner amongst the deputies, looking stern, but small and powerless. Suddenly, the image of deputies behind Robespierre begins to crack. There is a close up of the King as he looks on cautiously. The image behnd Robespierre begins to crack further.

Narration boxes center an image of a soldier killing a citizen:
"As demonstrators march through the streets, they clash with the Royal German Cavalry Regiment. Ordinary, unarmed people suddenly find themselves fighting with armies."
3 panels shows different moments that lead from protest towards outright battle: People find grain hoarded in a church, people gather pikes and spears, people put on cockades and assemble on masse. A narration box says:
"The conflict only confirms to the protestors, that institutions intended to serve, have become institutions that starve and threaten violence."
The same image seen on earlier pages, of the hands of deputies grasping the Bourbon flag, is repeated on the last panel. This time, it's joined by the hands of workers, who reach out to join their Third Estate deputies. In the background of this image, Parisians are mobalising in anger.
"The public take it upon themselves to storm churches, customs posts and arsenols by force- taking much needed grain supplies, and weapons to protect themselves with."

Camille stands in front of a tree with a determined expression. He says: "We m-must have a way to recognise our friends- let us all put on green cockades, the colour of HOPE!"
Weary looking police look over at the large crowd that has gathered at Camille's table, mumbling themselves: "What new troubles is that WRITER stirring up?". Camille spots them and shouts with anger: "L-look! The infamous police are here!" He looks back at the crowd, who hang on his every word: "Well, let them look at me!"
Camille looks up at the tree, the summer light casts dancing shadows and light around him. Camille says, as if to himself only: "Yes, let them observe me."

A long shot of the Palais Royale (still around to this very day in Paris!). Camille interrupts a happy scene of people drinking coffee and enjoying the July sunshine, with shouts of "Citizens!"
Two people stare in curiosity as he runs closer, commentating on the hurried Camille: "Is that Monsieur Desmoulins? He looks agitated." A friend replies: "He's ALWAYS agitated."
Camille runs right up to their table with a wild and frenzied expression. There are bags under his eyes, as if he hasn't slept. He spills a cup of coffee, but takes no heed to this as he shouts: "C-citizens! N-N-Necker!!" The people at the table look confused nad reply: "uhh...what?"
Camille finds his words: "N-Necker has been banished!" The two people suddenly become more alert and worried: "BANISHED?!" "Does that mean the rumours are true after all?!"
Camille doesn't reply, instead, standing up on a table and shouting: "My fellow Citizens!"

The King looks at the group with folded arms. He turns his head with reluctance. Narration: "...and the King finally agrees to the existence of the National Assembly. Although, this can't confirm that he's ready to serve the people's needs."

A deputy holds out a hand to a defiant looking King Louis, with the bacdrop of Versailles behind them.
Narration: "Matters begin to heat up at the Estates-General too. After six weeks of no progress, the Third Estate deputies decide to take matters into their own hands. They rename themselves the *National Assembly*- an assembly no longer representing separate Estates, but all the people of France together, as EQUALS. They invite the Nobles nad Clergy to join them in this bold new political system, but intend to begin making decisions on the future of their country immediately- no matter if the elites choose to join them or not.

Camille and Robespierre look at each other with optimism, as Camille says: "Our collective strength will surely bring about the change we need!"
A narration box laps over a long shot of the two friends waving goodbye as they leave the cafe. It says: "But the Third Estate would have no such luck over the coming weeks."
A wide panel shows King Louis XVI facing a group of Third Estate deputies, who face him off with demanding expressions.
Narration says: "They refuse to begin any discussion on reforms, so long as the voting system isn't changed. How can any real progress be made, when the ruling 2% of the population are currently able to out vote the 98% on any decisions?"

Camille clasps his friends hands as he speaks passionately: "The Estates-General will give us the new world we have always dreamed of having!"
Robespierre smiles down at his friends hands. He looks at Camille with sentiment: "My friend, I am very glad to see you here."
Robespierre looks to one side, smiling apprehensively and tapping a stimming finger on the table. He says:
"I have always felt so...out of place. Especially in the last few months, during my election as deputy."

Camille rolls his eyes in judgement as he talks of his dad: "F0father lives his comfortable, unenlightened life over in...ugh...GUISE. He knows nothing of the things I've seen in Paris. P-people queue in the streets, w-waiting for bread that never comes."
Camille continues to complain anxiously, amongst a red and blueish background of starving and pleading Parisians.
"Those lucky enough to buy some can b-barely afford it, such has been the price rises. They work and starve all at once. Is it any w-womder that the people feel so much anger towards the rich?"

Robespierre meekly raises a finger as he goes to make a point: "But if we go back to your question. It is my opinion that we should, considering the-"
He is interrupted by his disinterested debator, he stands up to charismatically make his own point:
"WE MUST COMPROMISE WITH THE SECOND ESTATE!"
Robespierre turns around, as he hears a familiar voice behind him enquire: "M-maximilien?"
Robespierre's face lights up as he sees his old school friend: "Camille!" Camille responds with wide open arms: "M-my old friend! How are you?"

Robespierre is startled as someone sitting next to him stands up to partake in the discussion at hand. This opposing deputy says: "We all agree there should be changes to the voting system! But to make such a bold move will surely only do harm. We must be willing to compromise with those in power!"
The deputy suddenly turns to a bewildered Robespierre, saying: "Surely you agree, de Robertpierre?"
Robespierre averts his eyes and says: "Oh, um. Actually, it is de ROBESPIERRE."
The Deputy stares down at Ronespierre, who looks up politely, and they argue over his name: "..Rosspierre."
"No. De robespierre."
"Robet-pierre?"
"Um. ROBESpierre."
The deputy waves a hand in defeat, saying: "Oh, no matter. You Northerners...your accents are so difficult." Robespierre concedes in muted disapointment, staring at his hands as he replies with a quiet: "...Hm."

The next panel shows inside the palace, at the first meeting. The King sits in the center of the giant hall. Narration says:
"But, even on thsi first day, the division between the commoners and the elite becomes clear."
The third estate deputies look on at a uncertain and indecisive looking King Louis, and a stand off-ish looking Jacques Necker.
The narration reads:
"The third estate are met with lack luster speeches from the King, and Director-General of finance. It's unclear whether they intend to support tax reforms and an end to feudal dues. Most disappointing of all, they make no mention of a key issue for the common people- will the Third Estate be allowed proportionate voting when decisions are made?"
A close up of Robespierre tensing up. The next panel moves to a cafe in the streets of Versailles. Someone shouts from inside the cafe: "We must stand our ground!"

A huge crowd of hundreds of deputies march along the streets of Versailles, all dressed in black. A narration box says: "In their black uniforms, they look starkly out of place against the rich and pompous attires of the First and Second Estates." In the foreground of a panel, a Bishop marches with a self important look on his face. A speech bubble protrudes from the large crowd that's watching: "Ugh. Look at that. Do y-you see that?" The bishop turns his head, and notices a young agitated man in the crowd, who continues to talk loudly: "A BISHOP m-marching with the FIRST estate? Does he not w-wish to stand beside the p-people he serves?"

The Bourbon flag over shadows a large group of men dressed in black, who march along a road. A narration box describes the scene: "May 4th, 1789. France is in shambles, having been hit with debt and poverty."
In the next panel, a tired and fed up looking King Louis XVI rolls his eyes at the various people in the background, from nobles to working class, all angered, scared or complaining.
"In a country burdened with food shortages, steep price rises, and frequent protests, King Louis XV! faces an impossible task, as he tries to maintain popularity."
The next panel shows the starkly different working class, shouting over to the stubborn looking nobles, who ignore them.
"What changes can he make to relieve the poverty of the common people, whilst also satisfying the nobles, who don;t want to give up their priviledges?"

Robespierre looks on from far away at a group of people, who seem to be sharing a joke he couldn't ever understand. His expression seems blank and cold. His narration continues:
"They think I am rebellious. That I do not care for others." The next panel shares a close up of Robespierre, he looks anxious. "But the truth is, I care deeply."
Robespierre closes his book. He looks around his bedroom quietly.
"I want to provide for my beloved brother and sister. I want the unfortunate to be given the same opportunities of education that I was given by kind hearted patrons."

Robespierre sits in his bedroom at a desk covered in papers, he has a modest room, but there's a bookshelf full of books. The next panel shares a close up of Robespierre's hand hovering over a unopened letter. He says: "Ah, Anais Deshorties has written to me?" Robespierre contemplates the letter, little love hearts are eminating from it, indicating its from a women of importance. He comments: "I should probably read and reply to that swiftly." Robespierre instead tuns his mind to book, which looks at with more love and affection than he's given to the letter (which nwo has a broken heart next to it!). As he looks lovingly at his book, Ronespierre says to himself: "Hm. I will read just a little bit of Rousseau first."
A large panel covers the rest of the page, as Robespierre pages through 'A Social Contract', and wanders deep into thought. His thoughts turn again into narration boxes: "...In Rousseus books, it feels as if human nature, laid out in hsi words, makes perfect sense to me. Why is this rarely the case in real life? I always seem to make some kind of mistake with other people, and they often misunderstand me...

Charlotte looks at Robespierre starkly, unconvinced by his words. Robespierre looks at the ground as he replies, even when smiling (he is known to have rarely made eye contact with others). He says to her: "I assure you, it wasn't all that bad." Charlotte responds uncertainly: "Well, if you are certain..."
She goes back to the table, while Robespierre walks over to a bird cage. She says: "Myself and bonbon were just playing a game of piquet. why don't you come play with us, since you are home early?"
Robespierre ignores his sister, completely enthralled by the little canary in the cage. His sister tries to get hsi attention: "Maxime? Hello? Maximilien?"

Robespierre is seen in the distance, framed by gossipers, looking away as if he isnt paying attention. The gossiping continues: "And to act so boldly when those of high standing do not approve of his family situation...Robespierre hardly makes things easy for himself, does he?"
The panels go back to the two chattering men. "Still, although he does not make much sense in his social life, the man is truly admirable as a lawyer. I cannot deny that his eloquence is matched by no one." The two men look back over to where they were watching Robespierre, but he's disappeared. "Oh! Where dd he go?" One man exclaims. The other replies with curiosity: "To leave so suddenly. I suppose he really does prefer books to people."
A close up panel of Robespierres feet, walking across a muddy street path. Then a close up of his face, as he looks downward contemplatively. A narration box shares hsi thoughts:
"...They always think I do not hear them talk about me."

The man who had fallen asleep sits back in his chair with an exasperated expression. He says: "Well, that was long. I wonder if my introduction speech is next?" He looks down in confusion as some hands grasp his: "...eh?" He looks up to see the man who had made him fall sleep, smiling enthusiastically at him, and saying: "Monsieur Brocard! I hope you enjoyed my introduction speech." Brocard smiles with confusion: "Oh...yes?" The man responds, ignoring his expression: "I welcome you here!"
The speech maker walks away happily towards a table of tarts, and Brocard turns to the person sitting next to him with a bewildered expression, whispering:
"THAT was my introduction? Um...is everyone in the rosati society like that man? I was told this was a light hearted affair." The person he's sat next to responds: "Oh, no. Thats just robespierre. He is a little...unusual."

Narration reads: "This leader of the traitors was shot in the jaw during the night. Much like every other conversation about him, no one can agree upon how the event took place. Some say he tried to kill himself. Others say he was shot by an officer. The man can't confirm the truth himself, he's no longer able to speak."
The panels move from various close ups to the man in question. He looks broken, tired, the bloody cloth wrapped around his jaw. He raises a hand in the air.
Narration reads: "He instead keeps gestering for pen and paper. The request is continously denied. But he persists. "Please, hear me!"

In the Place de la Revolution, a crowd has gathered to watch an execution. The French flag falls cross the page. Narration reads: "10 Thermidor. Twenty two 'traitors of the revolution' are marched through the streets of Paris towards their punishment- execution by guillotine."
Stood behind guards are ordinary people, looking over the shoulders of National Guards. Some of the faces look upset, others angry. Narration reads: "However, not everyone in the on looking crowd can agree on whether the accused are traitors to their cause or not. No one can even agree on what they want from the revolution."

You may be divorced, widowed, unemployed, or all three! but the tumblr girlies ADORE you. every time you let out a suffering sigh, they cheer and clap, do you understand me?? You are so so loved.

A comic page where Robespierre stands in a crowd of Jacobins, unnoticed, but is observed keenly by the British spy/visitor William Miles. The comic is accompanied by a direct quote from a letter written by William Miles, in which he amazingly predicts the rise of Roespierre's influence 2 years before it happens. The quote reads:
"There is one man who speaks almost every night, Maximilien Ronespierre. He is plain, unaffected in his manners, no foppery in his dress, and with none of the volatility of a frenchman. I do not enter into the question of government, but I say that Robespierre is a bonafide republican."
