I've installed yaak, few month ago, using brew install --cask yaak Now it ask me to update, does it mean I need a license if I upgrade because formulae.brew.sh/api/cask/yaa... is relying on .dmg?

That app will still function as normal. It'll just display a small "personal use" badge in the window header to suggest buying a license if you're using it for work.
