NSMB ushered in a new age for DS with its launch alongside that of the DS Lite in 2006, and a new age altogether for 2D platformers as the genre started to make its grand return.

The best DS game I've ever played to death. It is one of the best 2D Mario game next to Mario World. I'll go back and play it again, or play any of the rom hacks that people made, like Newer Super Mario Bros. DS
Hell, I remember the US commercial for New Super Mario Bros. very well when it was being promoted on television, especially the #NintendoDS Lite feature. Truly a new Mario for a new generation! What memories do you have of the original NSMB?
