The Scottish Liberal Club took no. 109 as their new club rooms, next to the Scottish Convervatives who had their rooms at 112.

The Liberal Club stayed there until 1977 when the dwindling membership agreed to sell the building and divide the proceeds amongst their number. This caused a rift between the social and political sides of the club; the former carried the majority, the latter wanted the money to go to the party
