Andy Arthur💃🏰⚓🦌 Threadinburgh 🧵 @threadinburgh.scot · 9d This is a really bizarre story because any amateur can go to the Mining Remediation Authority website and see the big red "X" beneath this street that shows there's a known old mine shaft and click it to bring up a map showing the area is riddled with shallow pits and worked-out coal seams.

The planning application is full of professional and official documents about these mineshafts - they know/knew they were there and it was a condition of development that the Coal Authority had to sign off their plans for them before building could commence. So clearly something doesn't add up.
Isn't this the sort of thing that should be found during searches on behalf of house purchasers? Let alone the due diligence of developers in their purchase of the land in the first place?
