I've highlighted a text saying: "Cheragh is deciding whether or not to write the great novel that has been gestating in her imagination for five years. But she faces a problem. If she writes it, she knows she will come to have higher literary standards than she currently has. She also knows that while her own novel would live up to her current standards, it will not live up to these higher ones. So, if she writes it, she'll wish she'd never bothered.
