Roses are best known as ornamental plants grown for their flowers in the garden and sometimes indoors. They have been also used for commercial perfumery and commercial cut flower crops. The long cultural history of the rose has led to it being used often as a symbol. In ancient Greece, the rose was closely associated with the goddess Aphrodite.
Pale pink in buds, the guard petals open cream colored before gradually fading to pure white still maintaining in its fluffy center a hint of yellow. This cultivated variety named 'Laura Dessert' is mesmerizing not only by aspect but by fragrance too. The peony is named after Paeon (also spelled Paean), a student of Asclepius, the Greek god of medicine and healing.Paeon extracted a milky liquid from the root of a peony that cured Pluto. When Asclepius became jealous of his pupil, Zeus saved Paeon from the wrath of Asclepius by turning him into the peony flower. In Japanese culture peony symbolizes good fortune, bravery and honor.

It was built in the 15th century over the site of an older fortification by the Hunyadi family, and it was one of the most important properties of John Hunyadi, the famous Governor of the Hungarian Kingdom, who led the Christian allies to victory against the Ottomans at the siege of Belgrade in 1456. The castle is a large and imposing structure with tall towers, bastions, an inner courtyard, diversely colored roofs, and lots of windows and balconies adorned with stone carvings. The Corvin Castle nowadays is restored and open museum to visitors. Framed art print.
