FLUSHING, NY, April 6, 2026 – The New York Mets announced that tomorrow’s and Wednesday’s games against the Arizona Diamondbacks have been moved to 4:10 p.m. due to expected cold weather and windy conditions. As an appreciation to the fans for their understanding, commitment and flexibility, the Mets are offering a limited number of complimentary tickets to both games. For fans who have already purchased tickets for Tuesday or Wednesday, the Mets will honor those tickets and provide an additional voucher for a future game. All tickets for the originally scheduled 7:10 p.m. starts on Tuesday and Wednesday will be valid for the respective 4:10 p.m. games. Gates will open at 3:10 p.m. and parking lots will open at 2:40 p.m. METS THANK FANS As a thank you to our fans, the Mets are offering a limited number of complimentary tickets for both Tuesday and Wednesday. "It's always difficult to tell midstream exactly where the free-agent market is. It's a little more helpful to look at it in retrospect. Every year I've been around the game, at some point in the offseason there is a cry of inflationary free agency, and then at some point in the offseason there's this worry that a bunch of players aren't going to be paid what they deserve or have jobs. This seems to be the natural cycle of the baseball offseason, and I imagine we'll experience both of those over the course of the next few months.

He’d surrendered Ozzie Albies’ go-ahead three-run double, and pitching coach Jeremy Hefner had already told him his day was over. Trifles. Díaz leaned into Mendoza: “I got this s—.” Ninth-inning pleas to the manager don’t always end well in these parts. But perhaps that’s part of the sweeping change happening in Queens. Matt Moore stands out as the best option. He’s been successful the past two seasons as a reliever, his curveball gives him a different look than the Mets’ other late-game options, and his changeup has meant he’s owned reverse splits the past two years. That mitigates the fears of pairing him with Brooks Raley. I still like Adam Ottavino as an option, even though a reunion looks unlikely at this point. After adjusting his repertoire and ditching his homer-prone cutter in the middle of the season, he was good down the stretch. Ryne Stanek, Phil Maton and Wandy Peralta are also solid options. Stanek is the hardest thrower in this group; he threw more than 300 pitches at 98 mph or better last season. Maton throws only 90 mph, but everything moves. He works a slider and a curve off his cutter. Peralta would be a backup plan behind Moore, though he’s been less successful holding down righties.
No, the Mets lack the kind of rotation and bullpen you generally rely on to carry you in October. However, New York possesses an offense that appears built for the postseason. As evidenced by its bashing of Gerrit Cole twice in the last month, the Mets’ lineup can go deep with the best of them. Only Baltimore has hit more homers since the Mets’ hot streak started May 30, and they’re tied for fourth in the majors in homers on the season — ahead of everyone but the Dodgers in the National League. On Thursday, New York was in the game against a dominant Chris Sale because Francisco Lindor turned one Sale mistake into two Mets runs. Homers carry offenses come October. The similarly productive but differently constituted offense in 2022 tied for 15th in the league in home runs, then watched Atlanta and San Diego outhomer it in the biggest games of the season. This Mets offense can swing a short series with its power.
