The Knockoff Mussolini regime keeps desperately trying to brute force the news cycle away from the facts that: - Knockoff Mussolini's likely a pedophile and even his base hates this - Congress just passed a bill that's going to significantly hurt most Americans in multiple ways because Congress serves corporations, not you - Your civil liberties are gone; this is a police state - The United States is pro-genocide But it doesn't seem to be working.

I really appreciate The Nation as a publication. Their latest issue has analysis by a writer from 50 states, honing in on one issue in each state. In this piece on Arizona, the writer looks at how our media environment creates a self -destructive performativity incompatible with a healthy democracy. "In the run-up to the Civil War, congressmen of all persuasions paid close attention to how they were covered in the press."
He gets it: Trump is not an aberration. "The Achilles’ heel of the ruling elites in Europe and in the United States today is that even though they’re presiding over the political crisis of neoliberalism, the legitimacy crisis of neoliberalism, they’re thoroughly wedded to the regime. They have nothing else to offer."
The nation state system, Western conceptions of property rights, and the theater we call "rule of law" are all reaching their logical ends. They were all just Colonialism 2.0 and the whole inane system is slowly being crushed under its own weight. We need a detailed proposal for what a post-nation state could look like. Particular attention must be paid to how systems that sustain civilization can be picked up & transformed with as little damage as possible as the systems of yesterday perish.

Knockoff Mussolini has a very fragile ego around TACO ("Trump Always Chickens Out") so I'd guess he's going to want to do some violence against Iran. And when he does, a cyberattack seems like the type of strategic Iranian clap back that we're likely to see in the US. So maybe calmly grab some extra cash and groceries and canned goods in case that all happens.
One thing I legitimately appreciate about Knockoff Mussolini is that he really makes it explicit that the nation state system is total garbage-- just a thinly-veiled global caste structure of racial privilege, run arbitrarily by known abusers and enforced by sad, broken men exacting unchecked violence on their own neighbors.
The entire public seems to have a shit memory so here: Mr. Manchild and Knockoff Mussolini had a falling out in 2017 because Manchild was making money from you know, selling carbon credits but not actually doing shit to reduce emissions. And now, he's most likely mad because Knockoff Mussolini's death cult is trying to gut the new energy tax credits. It's the same conflict, and neither of these large, toxic infants matured at all. Today's Democracy Now really illustrates how the US is a failing empire. From DHS lying and saying that an 80 year old Congresswoman body slammed their armed goons to the failing airport in the same city, to the commitment to symbolic white supremecy in refugee resettlement, it's clear that the US is nearing its swan song.
