Her debut novel, Awakened, is a gothic horror dystopia in which sleep has been stolen from humanity and monsters reign. In her talk, Laura will discuss the personal inspiration behind the book’s story, why horror becomes more popular in times of unease, and how we make our monsters - both fictional and real.
