While this differs from the World Health Organization's (WHO) strain selection of LP.8.1, it's not unusual for these recommendations to diverge. The WHO's guidance is intended to cover all member countries, while VRBPAC focuses just on what's circulating or expected to circulate in the U.S. The FDA will make the final determination.
