My review on Goodreads, which says: I think it says something that I read these over 300 pages in 48 hours. I literally couldn't put the book down. The stories flow between characters and are just so authentic and heartfelt. And at least three places I stopped and just cried. On a separate note, you know how you're watching a movie or TV show and they're trying to show you what it's like when someone is high on mushrooms, and they play with the light and sound and camera work? Like, you're not actually gonna see what it's like to be high, but maybe it'll give you some vague idea of the thing? I feel like the authors use of first person, second person, and third person narrative in different parts of the novel, and the transitions related to that, did exactly that in such a wonderful way. Such a high recommendation for me, this book. Favorite of the year.
