Here is the transcription of the text from the image: --- Football in Australia, unlike the UK, has a habit of casting aside it’s history. There are many examples of club and personal histories finding their way into the rubbish bins of time as clubs and families move on without the room to store items because those doing the tossing, know little of their value to the game. Without knowing and owning your history it is impossible to move properly forward, which is why Australian football is littered with new starts and re-imaginings. The Great Save was brought into being to preserve, protect and push the history of our game, giving the football fans of Australia the chance to have a better understanding of just where our game has come from. Type to enter text The Lord & Marston collections are the jewels in the Great Save crown and our heartfelt thanks go out to the families of Ron & Joe, but many smaller yet no less significant offerings have been made. The initial newsletters of a start-up club in the Sutherland Shire and the medical recommendations from the team doctor on our first tilt at the World Cup & many items in between contribute to telling of the growth of the game, both locally and nationally. Everything is important, be it to the local club in telling the story of it’s past, or to the stories of the Socceroos & Matildas.
