Top @toppleton.com · Dec 15 Bit of a red herring - not sure anybody is claiming that regular distribution outages (like a truck hit your local transformer) are affected by wind/solar? The risk is a Texas style grid blackout only in an extreme “force majeure” scenario (not counted in the graph). Germany hasn’t had one yet.

Indeed. It's not that local outages which are mostly reflected in the SAIDI values are impacted by wind and solar penetration. The continuous changes which can be observed are not in actual outages but in costs to keep the system up and running.
