A comment I left on the Project Sekai wiki on November 28, 2020: "If you interpret Mizuki as nonbinary and wish to use they/them pronouns for them, cool. But please stop insisting that it's canon and that anyone who interprets the character differently is just a transphobe. Mizuki doesn't have canon pronouns, they/them, she/her, he/him, or whatever because that's not how the Japanese language works. And they won't have any until/unless Project Sekai gets an official English release. Fan wikis like this one are not official sources of canon. With that being said, it's pretty undeniable that Mizuki is heavily transfem-coded, from the game being coy about her gender identity, to her 3D model having a totally flat chest unlike every other female character- like, even Rin has a little hint of a bust, Mizuki's got nothin'- to just... her whole story being about identity and being herself and what all that means. It still remains to be seen if she'll end up being a trans girl, some form of nonbinary, a cis male crossdresser (hopefully not), or something else. Personally, I lean towards trans girl, and will thus use she/her pronouns for Mizuki until further notice. Tl;dr- Quit yelling at people for "not respecting the canon pronouns" of a character who has no such thing. Also, people having different interpretations of fiction than you isn't the same thing as transphobia. ALSO ALSO nonbinary people can use pronouns other than they/them..." Some jackass's response: "If someone doesnt have a canon gender, use they/them. no one cares about your hc, its rude to use she/her for a character that doesnt currently have a gender"
