I've hinted at it so much there's no point in keeping it under wraps any longer. For the longest time, I've been working on a way to port GB games to the GBA. What I ended up building is a modified GB to GBA emulator that targets a fantasy console instead - I call it the GB Bridge.

El mero concepto ya de por sí es extremadamente interesante. Buen trabajo!! 👏🏻👏🏻💪🏻💪🏻

Is the GB Bridge named after the adapter used with Visoly Flash Advance and Flash2Advance cartridges to play GB and GBC games by translating between GB and GBA bus protocols? www.gameboy-advance.net/flash_card/g...

So you're creating a whole lot of bespoke new graphics to make this work, right? Because I can't see how you could just press a button to create some of these visual enhancements.

GB Bridge is basically a GBC with a different memory map, a bigger screen, and extra inputs. The real trick is that I use special registers to trigger native GBA routines from the emulator - meaning that, while very hard to pull off, I can push things as much as I want.

Me parece un proyecto muy interesante, estaremos antentos a tus avances... Mientras tanto estoy esperando a que las campanas suenen para una ranita.

So, it's an emulator that lets modded games use the GBA's capabilities? That's neat. I'm always wary of such things because you can end up like old SMW/SM64 mods only working on one old emu version. But when it's a proper spec, instead of accidentally relying on wrong impl, maybe not a big deal.

Pretty excited to see this. The concept has crossed my mind on a couple occasions, I did a small poc video in the past, though it was more so an emulator with enhancements, rather than targeting GBA m.youtube.com/watch?v=4P4a...

What would this do for let's say, Gen 1 and 2 of Pokemon?

This reminds me a lot of the Game Boy ROM format that I've always wished existed—an “Ultra Game Boy Color” that combined the Game Boy Color and Super Game Boy's features so you could get GBC palettes with SGB television borders plus actual functional utilized OBJ mode from SNES video memory

Is this a full rom? Want this version of SML so bad!
