oh man, I found out the hard way that the ears and specifically where they mount on cisco gear are not consistent across chassis models also if anyone out there needs 2960 or 3750 switches for their home lab, I have some slated for ewaste at work...

For lighter gear using rack studs will make life so much easier! For my lab racks I picked up some rack shelves and drawers for storage and it has helped me stay more organized.
