Outdoor poster campaign reads ‘always been her, always will be’ with a collage of trans people through time
LGBT history month has never been more needed than it is right now. We just celebrate our history and remind people that we have always been here. That trans people have always existed. I was to thank Sue Sanders, the founder of LGBT History Month. We must remember our history, but also acknowledge those who continue to fight now, like Lord Cashman and Baroness Barker. Linda Riley from Diva. Simon Blake from Stonewall. Shiv, who is organising the London Dyke March. Marty Davies, who is doing so much to ensure that trans history is recognised. And all those who make all of these things happen from behind the scenes, like Marsha Jane Thompson, who has done so much work in this space for decades. You are pushing for our history to be remembered, for our rights to be defended, and it is you who will be remembered in future history books.
