This is interesting... WA-05 GOP Rep. Michael Baumgartner is running a TV ad to elevate his Democratic opponent in the all-party primary on Aug. 4. The reason? He's trying to box out independent Nate Powell from the general. There's a $600k+ IE spending for Powell right now.

Sarah Trone Garriott, the Democrat challenging Rep. Zach Nunn (R-Iowa), raised $2.2 million in Q2. Nunn raised $987,000. JoAnna Mendoza, the Democrat challenging Rep. Juan Ciscomani (R-Ariz.), raised $2 million. Ciscomani raised $1.1 million. – Janelle Stelson, the Democrat challenging Rep. Scott Perry (R-Pa.), raised $2 million. Perry raised $1.2 million. – Christina Bohannan, the Democrat challenging Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks (R-Iowa), raised $2 million to Miller-Meeks’ $1.5 million. – Paige Cognetti, the mayor of Scranton, Pa., who is challenging Rep. Rob Bresnahan (R-Pa.), raised $2 million to Bresnahan’s $1 million. Stelson, Bohannan and Cognetti all have more cash on hand than their opponents. Stelson has $2.6 million more than Perry. Other notable GOP incumbents who were outraised: Reps. David Valadao (R-Calif.), Tom Kean (R-N.J.), Mike Lawler (R-N.Y.), Ryan Mackenzie (R-Pa.), Rob Wittman (R-Va.), Jen Kiggans (R-Va.) and Derrick Van Orden (R-Wis.). In the other direction, strong Democratic fundraising and weak GOP incumbents could bring red-leaning seats into play. Two examples: Rep. Chuck Edwards (R-N.C.) raised just $155,000. His Democratic opponent, Jamie Ager, raised nearly $1.4 million. Edwards is the subject of a House Ethics probe. Embattled Rep. Cory Mills (R-Fla.) — who also faces a House Ethics Committee investigation — raised less than $60,000 while one of his Democratic opponents raised $509,000.
However, Hong has expressed other opinions that are less likely to play well in a perennial swing state—opinions that Republicans would likely elevate if she’s the Democratic nominee. In May, for instance, she received criticism from fellow Democrats for saying at a campaign event that “my perfect world would be a world without prisons.” She’s also posted on social media in the past that she favors “defunding the police as a first step towards abolishing the police.”

Attorney General Ken Paxton of Texas recently bought three condominiums at a luxury resort in Utah, a set of purchases that offered fresh insight into his wealth amid his run for U.S. Senate, according to property records reviewed by The New York Times. The properties, along with a dozen others owned by Mr. Paxton, are at issue in his ongoing divorce negotiations with his wife, State Senator Angela Paxton, who has accused him of adultery. Mr. Paxton, 63, purchased the condos, worth a total of $1.6 million, in February, according to local property records, and transferred them to his blind trust. On the deeds, Mr. Paxton listed his address as a Dallas-area home. Police records indicate a woman who is not his wife lives there. Mr. Paxton, who has been photographed vacationing with the woman, has not directly addressed the relationship.

Cory Upton-Cosulich sat in a parked car by a hiking trail in Maine this week, fuming over the implosion of Graham Platner’s Senate campaign. Her anger wasn’t directed at him. It was aimed at the powerful people far away from her working-class harbor town who, one after the next, had rescinded their endorsements of a candidate she supported in the Democratic primary last month. The feeling was familiar — watching people in Washington decide who should represent her. She said she believed the woman who had accused Mr. Platner of rape, a claim he has denied. She believed the other allegations too. She decided to support him anyway, because he had promised to work on her behalf, and she believed him. “Establishment Dems are clutching their pearls because they don’t have him on a leash,” Ms. Upton-Cosulich, 40, typed into the box on Facebook asking her what was on her mind as she sat in her car. “The people of Maine want change.”

They took everything from him, including voter files and his ability to raise funds, effectively denying him any realistic path to continue the race even if he had decided to. Democrat JoAnna Mendoza’s campaign to unseat Rep. Juan Ciscomani (R-Ariz.) raised $1.9 million in Q2 and has $3.1 million on hand. Democrat Jake Johnson raised $650,000 in Q2 in his bid to flip Minnesota’s 1st District. Johnson has $950,000 on hand. Democrat Zach Dembo, who is running in Kentucky’s open 6th District, raised more than $625,000 in Q2. Dembo won a competitive primary for the seat on May 19 and ended June with nearly $500,000 on hand.
Many Democrats expected that Mr. Platner would drop out soon after Jenny Racicot accused him of sexually assaulting her in a Politico report published on Monday afternoon. But some Platner allies moved to canvass national Democrats to assess whether he still had support. Former Senator Barbara Boxer of California said that a representative from the campaign reached out to her on Monday afternoon to see whether she would stand with Mr. Platner. She refused.
Three different D.C.-based Democratic operatives in the past hour have shared a rumor/theory that Platner would support Geiger publicly to hide the fact that he secretly supports Jackson. Why he would do that instead of just not endorsing anyone is unclear.
Fundraising news: Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D-Fla.) raised $925,000 in Q2 and has $1.9 million on hand. Tejano music superstar Bobby Pulido raised $1.43 million in Q2 for his challenge against Rep. Monica De La Cruz (R-Texas). Overall, Pulido has raised $3 million since launching his campaign in September, and he has more than $1 million on hand. Democrat Jonathan Nez raised $1.2 million in Q2 and has $1.9 million on hand. Nez is running against Rep. Eli Crane (R-Ariz.) Jessica Killin, the Democrat running against Rep. Jeff Crank (R-Colo.), raised $800,000 in Q2. Killin, who gave herself $125,000 this quarter, has $1.6 million on hand.

Sorry, but Graham Platner has a rather large role to play in determining the nominee for US Senate in Maine whether these state party likes it or not!
But the crisis surrounding Platner has turned the Pine Tree State into a giant headache. It’s very possible — in fact, likely at this point — that Collins will prevail. Democrats don’t absolutely need Maine to win a majority. But it gets harder to see a path to victory without it.
Graham Platner has not made a decision on whether to drop out, according to a person familiar with the campaign’s internal discussions, who added there was no guarantee he would drop out even as Democrats abandoned his campaign on Monday. “If he was to step down it would only be with a guarantee of being replaced by a candidate who he believes is true to the values and vision and policy agenda of the campaign that Maine voted for,” said the person, who was granted anonymity because they were not authorized to speak about the discussions publicly.

President Trump reaped a stunning windfall in his first year back in the White House, including about $1.4 billion from his family’s cryptocurrency businesses, a new filing shows. All told, the president pulled in at least $2.2 billion, a figure that includes other parts of his vast holdings, such as his real estate assets. That compares to a minimum of $622 million his enterprises pulled in for all of 2024, before he returned to the presidency. One of his biggest hauls in 2025 came when an investment firm tied to the United Arab Emirates bought nearly half of the Trump family’s main crypto company, World Liberty Financial, a transaction that blurred the line between foreign policy and private enterprise. Mr. Trump also collected hundreds of millions of dollars from sales of his $TRUMP memecoin and World Liberty’s sale of its own digital tokens.
Questions about the relationship between the two Democrats were likely heightened by remarks made about Crockett's invitation to participate in the Texas Democratic Party convention.
