Kicked off our local #gutterbowl #secretleauge today with a win for Clan Skryre against Dawarfen Engineers. We played in clouds of smog. I explained it with the fact that the Deathroller and Doomflayer had a little doughnut contest on the market square before the game went down. We got free potions at kickoff. Never came around using it till the last turn. Gave it to my Mecha Vermin who promptly died… lesson learned 🤣 All around good clean fun. Good fun! #bloodbowl

With apps like Midjourney pumping out slop trained on a century of painterly sci-fi/fantasy illustrations, I wouldn't be surprised if generative AI basically kills the art style most associated with professional RPGs. Once upon a time, that style signaled money, effort and talent, but generative AI have basically inverted those associations. Soon we may see it as minimal effort, the sort of thing you can get for free with the right prompt, and no publisher wants to be seen as low-effort.

Rib posted: Today Melissa Lewis over on BlueSky pointed out that the font used in the infamous "You wouldn't steal a car" anti-piracy campaign was actually designed by Just van Rossum, whose brother, Guido, created the Python programming language (bsky.app/profile/melissa.news/post/3ln7hx5rhcj2v) She also pointed out that the font had been cloned and released illegally for free under the name "XBAND Rough". Naturally, it would be hilarious if the anti-piracy campaign actually turned out to have used this pirated font, so I went sleuthing and quickly found a PDF from the campaign site with the font embedded (web.archive.org/web/20051223202935/http://www.piracyisacrime.com:80/press/pdfs/150605_8PP_brochure.pdf). So I chucked it into FontForge and yep, turns out the campaign used a pirated font the entire time!

Plastic parts for Ahsoka Tano, Jedi no more model from Star Wars Shatterpoint. The lightsabers are extremely thin and made me worry they'd break if I didn't carefully remove them from the sprue as soon as possible.
