Just...keep the original aspect ratio. Nobody is going to complain. Just put a little disclaimer in your description or at the beginning of the episode in the content warnings section.

Lots of old TV shows shot on film have been HD restored retaining their proper aspect ratio (Knight Rider, The Love Boat, Columbo), but the bigger the show the more aggressive the studio/streamers are to present it in 16:9 (Friends, Seinfeld, Frasier). Pillarboxing/letterboxing is JUST FINE.

It's funny to me that after the letterbox/pan-n-scan battles about movies in the 1990s, we're now doing the exact reverse with TV shows from that era.
