100 Bullets: The U.S. of Anger #1 from DC/Vertigo by Brian Azzarello & Eduardo Risso On balance, I think the original 100 Bullets is a masterpiece. But it can be hard to overlook Azzarello's shortcomings when it comes to writing black characters. That's on full display here (cont.) #comics #review

The "both-sides"-ism in the plot rubbed me the wrong way. Sorry, but a group of black teens looting a store is in no way comparable to a group of neo-nazis. That's just science. The b&w art by Risso is undeniably gorgeous. His use of negative space is masterful. Rating: SKIM IT #comics #review
