DQ5-specific monsters Monsters that are very specific to DQ5 that appear in DQM4. This is less about all of the DQ5 monsters as some of them like the Slime Knight or Great Sabrecat are series staples. Rather, this is about monsters that only really appear in DQ5 and its remakes and in some cases only a few spin-offs. Most of these monsters haven’t had model updates since the 3DS DQM remakes, or in some cases since the PS2 DQ5 remake. While other Splatoon games have a somewhat Mario-like level design, this game focuses more on light platforming and exploration, since the game is purely about combat. There are still puzzle rooms, but they're a little more short-lived. I thought this was getting a little easy after a while due to how I was running through level, but the finale shut me up good, that second-to-last level is brutal. Also Deep Cut remains the best idol group.

The Fairy Mirror is a model viewer that lets you preview what your character look like with any given piece of gear in the game, be it actual armor or cosmetic. Seriously why are these level complete screens so good.
Playing this version just really emphasized how solid of a game Super Star is. The lower resolution really emphasized how eerie some of these backdrops really are, felt especially in the industrial levels like the Halberd and the one planet in Milky Way Wishes. Ultra remains an all-timer game (and plays much better), but this is worth checking out.
I'm aro/ace so I don't think I've ever simped for a character as hard as i did in my whole entire life.
To fit the time travel theme, a lot of the environment is reused from v1. It makes sense, but ultimately leads to both boring exploration and a graphical dissonance with the actual new areas added to the game. That said, the other side of the time travel coin is that the story was legitimately intiguing, having to travel to different eras and meeting key figures in Astoltia's lore, and realizing with horror their fate due to the current state of the world, and that theme continues all the way to the final dungeon. Also Kyururu is probably one of the best companion characters ever created.
The original Mario Wonder was a very short game to 100%, and had pitiful excuses for bosses, so the Koopaling fights and Captain Toad challenges in this are all great. It does feel like a waste however that none of Bellabel Park's attraction support online matchmaking, making it useless to me. This is one of the more expansion NS2 versions at 20 bucks, but half of it is worthless if you're playing solo. Get it if you really like Wonder or if you got it on sale.
Pretty much all of my problems with v2 just evaporated once the expansion got going. Seeing everyone from v1 take part in the story was a great time. From what I heard about Offline, they stopped at v2. An utter shame, as I'd say without the v4 teaser at the end, this would have made for a fantastic trilogy.
I think one other thing is that having just ran through all of Astoltia at the time and getting to meet all the other races made the Human-focused expansion feel really... boring? It really felt like going from a breath of fresh air to straight business. This might have been very cool back then when you finally got back to your homeland after waiting for a long time upon completing the base game, but playing v1 and v2 together in quick succession felt like a bit of a downgrade outside of the beautiful environment.
I like Dry Bones
I think the gameplay updates from the way gear works, the reworked vocations and the pacing of battle are fantastic. I really don't agree with any of the cut content, between all the missing monsters, no vocation costumes nor any of the monster vocations and removed scenarios, it doesn't do anything new to warrant the "Reimagined" moniker either besides a new scenario at the end. DQ7 remains the weird one in the series, with a lack of a definitive version.
DQX's base game have a sort of magic that future expansions would not recreate. Having to use the train and limited zoomstones to move around in a non-linear way was so much more immersive than it was annoying. The expansions get much better over time, but IDK, this is something special.

Mimic with Cheese from Dragon Quest Monsters The Dark Prince
Final day of Slime Time: Riceball Splatter (Note: that name is unofficial) A group of 3 slimes made of rice, all of which look like onigiri. They are served on a giant leaf alongslide slices of fruit. The top slime is based on hijiki rice, the left one is munching on a picked plum, and the right one has a shrimp tail instead of a point, and has its mouth obscured by the seaweed wrap. This new slime was shown in the gameplay trailer for Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World. Not much is known about it so far.

An enemy defined by launching heat seeking missiles at players while being impervious to damage from the majority of weapons, and could only be removed by throwing bombs in their missile-shooting bins that are only open for a short while when they attack. In this Splatoon Raiders screenshot however, you can see this spawn of Satan getting absolutely lit the fuck up by weapon fire from multiple players, as this dickhead forgot his armor. Eat shit, asshole.
Day 29 of Slime Time: Magic Slime A green healslime with a green appendage on its head, and wielding a wooden wizard staff. Not to be mistaken with the other type of green healslime called Sootheslime, which was created later. An original slime from Dragon Quest Monsters: Caravan Heart. This healslime has styled itself after a Mage from Dragon Quest 3, and has traded healing powers for strong magic. Magic Slimes are particularly strong with party-wide Sizz spells, allowing them to scorch enemy teams for massive damage.
Day 28 of Slime Time: Slabbit A pink slime with a blue mouth and limbs that resemble a rabbit's hind legs. The usual slime point is bent over to give it a speedy look. This Dragon Quest Monsters original is as swift as it looks and could deliver big leg sweeps to trip its opponents. In the Japan-only 3DS remakes, they were made much bigger than their original appearance to take 2 slots, making them dwarf the young protagonists.
Day 27 of Slime Time: Seraphi A human woman with white skin, blue neck long hair, wearing a yellow outfit, a black undershirt, orange scarf and boots, and a pair of goggles on her forehead. This depiction of her is heavily simplified. Seraphi is a character from Dragon Quest X's first expansion. She is an amnesiac travelling around the Kingdom of Al-Ahagiro with her partner, a Great Sabrecat named Clawde. It is revealed during the Al-Ahagiro storyline that Seraphi used to be a Healslime (which her design references) before being turned into a human following a tragedy that befell the kingdom.
Day 26 of Slime Time: Goonache Goodie A chocolate-colored slime (known as a chocoslime) lodged in a pastry pocket. This slime introduced in Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince resembles a chocolate cornet. It is found fairly early on in that game, being available as the player reaches the cake-filled Circle of Indulgence of Nadiria. It uses Sweet Breath to put its opponents to sleep and may stun its opponents due to how delicious it looks.
Day 25 of Slime Time: Buddy Slime A pink slime with a long stem, sprouting into leaves where the usual soft point would be. An original Slime from Dragon Quest Monsters, created by synthesizing a Slime with a member of the Nature-family. These Slimes have managed to evolve in a way that lets them photosynthesize. They specialize in minor healing and inflicting status ailments, particularly paralysis.
Day 24 of Slime Time: Bad Egg A shadowy monster halfway through hatching from a white egg. It is recognized as a Slime in Monsters games. A monster from Dragon Quest 7, the Bad Egg will randomly hatch into a different monster monster if not taken down before then (none of them slimes, funnily enough). It made its Monsters series debut in Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2 where it is one of the 6 monsters the player may randomly start with upon starting the game. In that game (and Monsters games following it), the Bad Egg is shown attacking using a large shadowy clawed limb (depicted here).
Day 23 of Slime Time: Gem Slime A large, diamond-shaped slime made of solid gold, wearing a silver crown with a blue (or sometimes purple) gem embedded in it. These very rare slimes first appear in Dragon Quest Monsters, and have been a staple of the sub-series ever since. The Gem Slime is a perfect endgame monster to have in your party thanks to its very high wisdom stat and extreme resistances comparable to that of metal slimes, making it nigh unkillable. They were added to the main series in Dragon Quest 7. Gem Slimes often share the metallic characteristics of the coveted metal slimes, but are not known to run away, and will reward those patient enough to take them down with a significant amount of gold.
