A conservation easement ensured it stays that way, contributing to a continuous 10,000-acre wildlife corridor,. The Deep River at Ramseur is a different story. Decades of industrial use left a dam on the river, blocking aquatic habitat and fragmenting a critical stretch of the Deep River.
