I'm looking at this diagram... It's not quite my exhaust. I think this is the Coupe. I have the Sedan. I also realized that this canister is from a Coupe. I think the previous owner tried to do a repair, and got the wrong part, then just used it anyway. There's liquid sealant all over the pipe.
Are those connections in British Columbia by any chance?
When I got the car, there was a muffler, with an exploded exit port. This "Weird Fart Can" was in the trunk. It's not made for this car, but it was there. I basically just shoved it in the muffler hole, and attached the clamp. It looked good enough to shut the cops up. Lasted 6 years.
