what an insane fucking year. i finished the two biggest creative projects of my life, both multiple years in the making, i got on fucking estrogen after wishing for that for what feels like my whole life, i stood on a stage performing music for the first time in my life - and then did that like 5 more times. this is also the year i stopped drinking, the first year where i felt like i wasn’t actively harming all of my friendships, the year where for the first time in a long time i felt like i could think clearly about my life again. and yet! i hate the fact that all of these pretentious "the journey is the reward" fuckers we’re right all of this time. the harshest truth i had to learn this year is that reaching your goals won’t make you happy. and that is a hard goddamn pill to swallow for someone who spent the last three years basically just chasing her goals.
