Confabulation is a neuropsychiatric symptom where a person creates false memories—ranging from minor distortions to elaborate fabrications—without the intention to deceive. Individuals believe these distortions are 100% accurate, often called "honest lying". It commonly occurs in dementia, Korsakoff syndrome, and traumatic brain injury.
Someone doesn't know what they're asking for, because they would prefer 5 years of experience supporting a product that has only been out for 3.5 years.
