today is april 27, 2026. exactly three years since i first went live. in august of 2025, i decided to take what was supposed to be a short hiatus from streaming to give myself time to recenter and come back swinging. eight months later, it turns out "short" was a severe underestimation on my part. streaming had been slowly taking its toll on both my physical and mental health, and in my time away, i've realized that my creative drive was never a good fit for a live format in the first place, seemingly more suited to scripted and edited content. as such, i've decided to move on from streaming for the foreseeable future, instead focusing my time toward vod content on other platforms like youtube. i'm not leaving completely, i'm just taking my time now. thank you everyone for being so patient with me all this time. hopefully i'll remember to upload new videos more than once a year. here's to many more stories to come. -valerie.

As of Saturday, August 23rd, 2025, I will be taking an indefinite hiatus from streaming. I will be doing one more stream on Friday (08/22) to talk about why. This was not a decision I came to lightly, but with the VTubing space being so volatile right now, and with several recent situations leaving me overly stressed, I've realized the best thing for me in this moment would be to step back from full-time streaming. I will also be taking this time to reconsider what I want to be doing creatively going forward. I've had many ideas for other projects that I've repeatedly set to the side or shelved completely in lieu of focusing on streaming, and I need some time to consider my creative priorities. That said, I will not be disappearing entirely. I'll still be present in the community, participating in collabs on other channels, and helping other creators behind the scenes. I may also do an occasional pop-up stream when I have time, but I will not be committing to regular streams for the forseeable future. To any VTubing creators and viewers reading this: You may hear more bad news in the near future that might demotivate you, but I urge you to push forward and be the positivity and success you want to see in this space. Always treat one another with kindness, patience, and understanding; the smallest efforts can lead to the biggest improvements. The storms will pass soon, and things will get better.
