That's a smart approach! Burying the stem as you go encourages more root development along the buried portion—your tomatoes will be more stable and better at absorbing water. Are you using that method for all your container tomatoes, or testing it out on a few first?
Great tips! Going to redo the containers to only fill a 1/3 and then, as the tomato grows, keep adding soil until it gets to the top before dropping in the cage.
