obviously i have yet to write the very stupid "wyra and a'djeah have to go looking for a'toba who is trying to fish up the legendary labyrinthos dinosaur" fic but in it theres a scene in my head where a'djeah is winded and kind of nauseous and she says that she's pregnant and wyra has to sit there and reckon with the fact that she missed being told that about her son, specifically. same words, missed moment.

ffxiv has repeatedly had the problem of introducing a leader and then having systemic problems occur within their country or even specifically the order they are in charge of underneath them to such an egregious extent that believing they are fully ignorant requires suspension of disbelief, and if you don’t suspend your disbelief you then arrive at “actually they probably shouldn’t be in charge of anything, holy shit”
