The absolutely ridiculous garden shed my dad built for my stepmom, with big windows and shingling that matches the house. Honestly, you could cut a door in the side of the house and make this an extra bedroom, but instead it just holds gardening tools and a bunch of herbs that need a place to stay warm in the wintertime.

West 72nd Street Bike Lane - SUPPORT X Councilwoman Brewer: Recently a petition has been circulated around my building and on my block by a group of residents who are opposed to the new bike lane. I am writing, as a resident and owner on W. 72nd to share my support of the bike lane. Despite their fearmongering, reducing the amount of traffic and idling vehicles (including trucks and buses that sit, running, for hours outside my windows and cars that drag race down the street in the middle of the night) will help alleviate the pollution on our block. The use of our street as functionally a parking lot for every delivery service in the neighborhood is a blight, and already functionally reduces the street to only two moving lanes at most hours of the day without the commensurate benefits that the traffic calming plan would bring with it. As a pedestrian and (sometimes) cyclist, safer bicycling infrastructure will be a great boon to those of us who don't view the street as principally a place to store personal vehicles for free. Further, bicycles are already running at all hours of the day down our street - better, separated infrastructure can only HELP control the flow of bicycle traffic and reduce conflict between cars, bicycles and pedestrians. The solution to bicycles running red lights is better infrastructure and enforcement, not leaving things as the free-for-all that they are now. Please be aware that there are those of us who live on this street who fully support the proposal. Do not buy into the fearmongering by residents who simply fear any change to their current status quo. Every major bike lane in the city has faced similar opposition right up until it was installed, at which point nearly everyone realized what an improvement it was (see, e.g., the fight over the now beloved Prospect Park Bike Lane).
