I know it's counter-intuitive, but there does exist the type of person with good politics and shitty personality that you just don't want to be around or have near you at all. Similarly, there's people with abhorrent politics that you can end up getting along with... as long as you ignore their disrespecting your fucking rights as a human being when they're not directly talking to you. To be honest, I would support the former, but not want to be around either of these people, no matter how many laughs the latter can get from me in private circles.
We were co-GMs, and we gave one of our players, who's character had lost their memories and became a skeleton wracked with a sense of guilt he did not understand, a choice: slowly forget everything and become a human again with a family who loves him... ...or... ...remember, and stay with his new friends as a skeleton. This campaign had been running for quite some time. At least 2 and half to 3 years by my recollection. He had forged genuine relationships with the other characters, and we laughed, cried and had epic moments multiple times over the sessions. His player cried for 2 hours while struggling to make the decision. We were all on the verge of crying or outright crying. But in the end, he chose to forget. And in doing so, changed the entire course of the follow up campaign, Frontier of Man, by erasing a key villain from the timeline, who was created in the same ritual as his character.

You take a deep breath and watch it for a moment. The bags feel lighter. Someone honks. You're standing in their way. You brush them off and keep walking back to your truck. The door creaks open and clunks closed. You're looking right at the sunset, keys in your hand. You wait for a moment, and watch. Other vehicles drive away without even noticing the splendor above them. You take another breath, and drive away.

Adding any kind of "warning" about the mere existence of non-binary or trans people in a piece of media is tantamount to calling trans and non-binary people a slur and that they must be monitored as though they are indecent or criminal. This unjustly demonizes trans and non-binary people and is, without any doubt here in this world or the next, a hostile suggestion to even present in a court of law. It is not reasonable or justifiable to put such a blatantly transphobic and enbyphobic suggestion on the table, let alone make it into policy or law. To allow this sort of labeling to put in place would be an attack against me and all of the LBGTQ+ community.

If politicians wanted to protect kids, they'd be funding education for parents on how to take care of their kids and holding said parents accountable when something goes wrong. And most importantly: stopping parents from abusing their children. Instead they wall off any routes for a child to learn about the world, until there's nothing left but pre-approved, packaged and propagandized misinformation. It's a reverse walled garden for a child. Everything fulfilling and wonderful is outside the wall, leaving pain, misery, trauma, injury and death within it. If the child wants to learn the world, they are only allowed to learn it through the myopic and fascist lens of religious nationalism, white supremacy, fear and Nazism. And if that weren't bad enough, those children lucky enough to have parents that teach them basic things like pronouns and respect for other people have their lives endlessly scrutinized and demonized by racist bigots in office, on the media and online. Both of these things point to one damning fact: the goal is not to protect children. It's to indoctrinate children into becoming miserable and obedient workers that will go on to subject their own children to the same treatment.

Tile Dove The second most common of the organisms that live in the Overnight Terminal, Tile Doves are a topologically similar local variation of Columba livia, or common pigeons. Composed primarily of shattered ceramic arranged in the detailed shape of a pigeon, these organisms appear to consume food as if they possessed a functional digestive tract. All food consumed in this way is transformed into ceramic and excreted in the shape of marbles ranging in size from 4mm to 12mm, with most droppings shattering upon striking the ground. These organisms are generally as docile as their base reality counterparts, though brooding mother Tile Doves will fiercely protect their nests, which to date have all been largely empty and poorly made (consisting of as little as 3 small pieces of refuse arranged in a roughly circular shape). These organisms are commonly preyed upon by Glass Cats, though it is not well understood how exactly consumption occurs (see Glass Cat entry) Examination of the bodies of Tile Doves killed in this way reveal large portions of the composition melted as if exposed to extreme heat, though no visible charring can be seen near or on the remains. Generally it is advised to disregard these organisms as they pose no significant threats.

There are monsters along the path. They bite and they gnash at you. Their entire beings devoted to making you turn back. Making you regress. But these monsters have a tunnel vision. They cannot fathom the way any longer. For they were once travelers like you. Driven to regress to childhood. It's because of this that side-stepping the path, if only for a moment, can make the difference between continuing forth or losing a limb to their jaws. There is no straight and narrow. That is merely the path most taken.
One must also remember that a large source of that frustration is our own culture's insistence that our work be marketable commodities, and the ever growing hole that is the demand for that commodity When we make art as children, we are often berated for not having turned a profit with it by our parents, authority figures and silently by society at large. Told that if it doesn't pay the bills that it's not worth it. It's a form of societal abuse. That societal abuse carries on with us as we become adults. Often with those same voices *still* harassing us for not making money with art. And even when those voices are silent, their echoes rattle our brains with guilt and doubt in our ability to satisfy those demands, which we further abstract into a general sense of discontentment with our art no matter how skilled we may become. Our brains tell us "you haven't done it good enough" because that's what was told to us so many, many times over.
