Based on this, a diode (that’s there to presumably protect the rest of the circuit) short circuited. I did what others did, took a soldering iron to the board, and removed the faulty diode (pics with and without diode D4)

Ideally, that diode should be replaced, but I’m not going through the effort of that. (double checked that it’s not a fire hazard).
