This can really come down to the minutiae as well, like how to give somebody an option to go light/dark mode on their OS. Windows has light/dark and a custom mix of the two, GNOME has default and dark mode, and macOS has light/dark and auto-switching between them. Which is right? Which is expected?

macOS and GNOME have very quick toggles for changing this setting in their menu bar, whereas Windows requires going way into settings to change it. Is it something people regularly toggle? Is it something they would toggle more if they could? Do they know this exists if it isn’t obvious? Unclear.
