In Indian Peaks, if one’s staring at you... congrats, you’re the weird one in its meadow. If you see one in the wild, give it a WIDE berth. They can be ornery.

We used to live in Brainard Lake and tore down the Building we bought to make room for what is now: Indian Peaks Area. 300 words could not explain all the fun we had.
I did run into one on Cameron Pass a few years ago. It mostly ignored me, busily grazing in belly deep foliage. I backtracked quietly.
