Elk were wiped out in much of Colorado by the early 1900s. Thanks to reintroduction and protected habitat like Rocky Mountain National Park, they’re now thriving... and occasionally blocking the road through Estes. #wildliferecovery #rockymountainnationalpark #themoreyouknow #photography

Beautiful! I lived a few miles south of Littleton some years ago. Had acreage. A herd of elk came onto the property, at least 25 of them. My Jack Russell terrier escaped, went out and harassed them for half an hour. He was in his element. The elk were annoyed, but nothing bad happened, lol..
