Doechii becomes only the third woman to ever receive this honor, following in the footsteps of Lauryn Hill and Cardi B. In her powerful acceptance speech, she proudly embraced her roots, saying, "I call myself the Swamp Princess because I'm from Tampa, Florida. There's so much culture in Tampa. Whenever people think about Florida, they only think about Miami, but Tampa has so much talent. Labels go to Tampa!" She dedicated the win to Black girls everywhere, reminding them "anything is possible."
